We asked our Community, "what's your favorite thing about Yoga Rocks the Park?"
"My favorite things about Yoga Rocks the Park: #1. If I was a park, I'd want to be rocked like that. #2. They're constantly turning people (myself included) onto to an amazing array of fantastically talented teachers and musicians. #3. They're bringing an inspiring, positive experience to people across the land, week in and week out. It's the kind of health care reform they should be talking about in Washington. A regular dose of highly preventative pick-me-ups for the masses." - One of our favorite Yoga DJ's / Co-Founder & CEO of our National Music Partner, Yogi Tunes/ Amazing Musician / Seriously Groovy Human, Alex King Harris (aka DJ Rara Avis) |
"My favorite thing about Yoga Rocks the Park is creating unification across the Portland yoga community. I have loved seeing the smiles on people's faces when they connect with a friend-maybe even someone they just met at another YRP event, and seeing the connection of students to new teachers. Weaving music & nature into the mix and you could not ask for anything better!!"
- Jennifer Johnson, YRP Portland Event Director |
"One of my favorite things about Yoga Rocks the Parkis getting to see people fall in love with yoga for the first time. Sharing in savasana with these newly introduced yogis as the grass tickles our toes and the sun radiates upon us - brings us together. There is just something spectacular about being outdoors with people who have high energy, passion and open hearts that inspires and relaxes me."
- Jillian Craig, CEO & Founder of YRP National Partner, Rivé |
"My favorite thing about YRtP is working with their amazing staff across the country!"
- Dan Wilf of YOGANONYMOUS, YRP National Media Partner |
"My favorite thing about Yoga Rocks the Park are all the people and the amazing energy that they all bring with them! At one of our events in Cleveland I told everyone that there are so many people behind the scenes that make these events happen, but it is everyone of you that made the choice to be here today that makes this possible. I see so many people connecting, some old friends and some meeting for the first time.
As we create this amazing energy at these events and people take some of that back into their world it affects all the people around them. You never know how far this energy will travel or whom it's positive affects will touch. If we do a small thing like taking care of ourselves through our practice, we raise our own vibration. We in-turn raise the vibration of the people around us and we are able to do so much more for others. I am so excited to see YRP grow across the country and look forward to the infinite possibilities as this amazing energy expands out into the world." - Andy Holland, YRP Cleveland Event Director |
"The thing I love the most about Yoga Rocks the Park is the possibility that children have to experience their own yoga class in a safe & fun environment while their parents practice nearby amongst friends & community."
- Jodi Komitor, Founder, Next Generation Yoga & The Biz of Kids Yoga |
We are all so grateful for his vision that made our little weekend celebrations possible. From one event in Denver 6 years ago to 15+ across the U.S. So cool. Here's what Erik Vienneau, our founder, had to say about Yoga Rocks the Park.
"My favorite thing about Yoga Rocks the Park is that it's the opposite of the world view we see on CNN. Most people want to see peace on earth but don't know how to create it. YRP is a little slice of enlightened community shared under open sky in cities across the U.S. each week. Adults and their children all join together to create a peaceful experience and bring that energy out into the world. Ghandi said, 'Be the change you want to see in the world.' Well, show up, share your smile and create an enlightened world by working on your own path and assisting others on theirs. I pray YRP is a gateway for people to find their teacher and Sangha as they head towards the removal of suffering and the increase in peace. May all beings be happy, peaceful and at ease!" - Erik Vienneau, Dad, Hubby, Practitioner & Founder of YRP |
"My favorite thing about Yoga Rocks the Park is the engagement of community. I love seeing how the environment opens people up to talk and share and relate to one another. Wiggling out of our comfort zone of the yoga studio and into nature awakens a playful spirit."
- Sara Snyder, Marketing Director at ToeSox, YRP San Diego Partner |
"I love how YRP consistently gathers community to celebrate the practice of yoga. These events provide a vital, binding element for our inherent desire for connection."
- Yoshi Aono, Managing Director, Hanuman Festival, YRP National Festival Partner |
"What I love most about Yoga Rocks the Park is the co-creation and collaboration that must happen between the teacher, the students, the artists, the organizers and Mother Nature! It's an absolute unknown up until the moment it all happens. Somehow the present moment feels more...present! And to fill the space that Mother Nature provides, we all have to contribute. The spontaneous nature of it all is an immense challenge and an intense joy!!"
- Gina Caputo - Yogini On The Loose, YRP Featured Teacher |
"I have 4 things. #1. Getting text messages from my YRP event director friends throughout the country on Saturday nights sending love and wishing us a great event on Sunday. #2. The blessed opportunity to provide space to amazing teachers and musicians (and friends) to spread their gifts with the world in the sunshine!!! #3. That feeling when you leave the park that what you just experienced... love, bliss, play, total connection is really what it's all about. #4. All of the new people that have blessed my life because of YRP. Seriously grateful."
- Traci Wallace, San Diego Event Director / National YRP Communications & Partnerships |
"I love that moment when you look up and see this group of beautiful yogis, yoga mats in hand marching excitedly toward the registration booth. Everyone is so excited to be there and can't wait to get started. I love knowing that I'm apart of this amazing group creating this experience and making a difference in people's day and maybe even lives."
