“Yoga Rocks the Park is not just a weekly event, it’s a movement to bring a sense of peace and joy to our communities" - Erik, founder of YRP

First time heading to Yoga Rocks the Park? Or, are you a seasoned YRP goer looking to enjoy the experience even more? Check out this helpful list of ways to make the most of your Yoga Rocks the Park adventure...

Picture
1. Register & grab some goodies.
Arrive at the park by 8 am (we start at 8:30) and come say hi to the Yoga Rocks the Park Crew waiting for you at registration to check you in (please show your ticket on your mobile device OR just let us know your name - no need to print out your ticket). Also, don't forget to grab your free goodies from our partners). Pre-registration is encouraged to guarantee your spot and keep the lines flowing at the park. Please and thank you for that. ;)

Picture
2. Grab your mat, water bottle + sunscreen.
Head to the park EARLY with your friends, family or just roll solo as close-in parking for YRP is limited. Better yet, ride your bike or carpool. Don't have a mat/water bottle or sunscreen? No problem - in Denver Pogamat is on-site so you can sample/purchase a mat from right at the park along with other supplies from the YRP vendor booth.

3. Pre yoga needs?
Grab a juice or snack in the Wellness Vendor Village. Pick up some sunscreen and a new YRP water bottle or tank top. Bring your wallet (CC's accepted by most vendors) so you can pick up some new goodies from the 20+ vendors before and/or after class and enjoy connecting with old and new friends.

4. Drop your little yogis off at Camp YRP
If you have your kiddos with you (ages 5-10), you can drop them off at Camp YRP provided by Radiant Beginnings Yoga, which happens right by the main class and begins and ends 5 minutes before/after your class to ensure that Moms and Dads can enjoy their full savasana. p.s. They are always welcome to join you in the main practice.

Picture
5. Enjoy Guided Meditation, Yoga + Live Music and post-yoga mini-wellness workshops in Mother Nature with your Friends & Family
The 75-minute all-levels flow begins guided by some of your favorite local and national yoga teachers, accompanied by a LIVE SOUNDTRACK provided local emerging and nationally renowned musicians. In Denver you'll want to come early and stay late as the yoga class is preceded by a guided meditation and peace talk while post yoga there are free mini-wellness workshops in the vendor village. Breathe and enjoy the sacred space our teachers and musicians create for you each week in the presence of Mother Nature.

Picture
6. Mingle, hug a friend, support a local cause / business.
After class, the music and mingling continues and we encourage you meet someone new, and learn more about your local businesses and Seva Partners in our Wellness Vendor Village.

Picture
Bonus: You give just by showing up
All YRP cities donate some to all proceeds to local/national non-profits. In Denver 50% of all donations go to Food Bank of the Rockies. Can't afford to donate? No problem, in Denver the event is free thanks to local partners.

We all leave the park as shiny, happy people which ripples out into our communities!
Then, we do it all again next weekend!

EXPERIENCE ERIC STANLEY LIVE AT 2014 YOGA ROCKS THE PARK PHOENIX FINALE' EVENT, MARCH 30TH | Free Download of The Eric Stanley Project Below
Picture
"Trying to be better than someone else is a pure waste of time. Strive to be better than you were yesterday" - Eric Stanley

Music is the inspirational driving force shaping lives worldwide. A great musical composition does not always need words to have an everlasting impact, for the message can be seen, felt and heard through sound. Take 22 year old musician Eric Stanley, who knows all about inspiring others through his musical talent. With over 15 million+ YouTube views, and 91,000+ YouTube subscribers, Eric is well on his way to achieving his goal of changing lives with his violin.

Born in Chesapeake, VA, Eric grew up in a household surrounded by musicians. What began as an elective in middle school developed into a second nature for Eric. As he entered high school, Eric went on to receive professional training and join the Richmond Youth Symphony Orchestra. Eric is currently studying Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus in Music and Business at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA.

Eric began playing along recorded songs in 2010. The first video he posted on YouTube was a violin cover of “Say Ahh” by Atlantic Recording Artist Trey Songz. This video gained 100,000 views in a day. The overwhelming response motivated him to keep moving forward. With just homemade videos recorded in his dorm room, Eric has reached over 91,000 subscribers and surpassed 15 million total upload views. He
continues to use this social media site to build his brand and has been featured on a number of social media sites such as Perez Hilton.com and WorldStarHipHop.com.

Eric’s mixtape of covers entitled “The Eric Stanley Project” was released in April 2011 to the delight of his fans and has received 56,000+ views, and over 27,000 downloads to date. This musical protégé continues to elevate his passion, and has performed both nationally and internationally in Ecuador, Mexico, England, as well as Sweden.

Awarded the Black Caucus, Black Student Union, & NAACP’s “Master of Music Award” in 2012, Eric has not limited himself to a specific style of music. He defines it more as world music mixed into modern. Some of his musical influences include Jean-Luc Ponty, Japhia Life, Andre 3000 and his family as a major influence in his career.

Eric’s debut single “Walkin’ Cross The Road” is available now on iTunes. A tour and an EP (extended-play) release of original music are also in the works for Eric. The self-entitled EP will incorporate a variety of pop, hip hop, jazz and orchestral music. With a steadily growing worldwide fan base, Eric Stanley is well on his way to achieving his goal of inspiring others with his violin chords.

New Music Spotlight + A Reminder to Celebrate your yoga master :)

We heard Lee play "Yoga Master" (see video above) live last night at Belly Up in Solana Beach, California (along side YRP/FNYC Featured artist Luke Williams who killed it last night!). Check out all Lee's music at leecoulter.com.  Listen to "I Would Love."  So good. (we're hoping to get Lee for YRP soon!)

About Lee Coulter

Self. It’s a prefix that usually sends musicians to the bottom of the pile. Self-produced, self-released, self-managed can all be ways of saying no one else cares. Lee Coulter became an exception to the rule in 2011 when his DIY debut album saw three singles reach rotation on Sirius XM’s The Coffee House (who also named him the Discovery of 2011) and major San Diego AAA station, KPRI FM. And more recently opening for musical greats Chuck Berry, Martin Sexton and Jack Tempchin as well as fellow up and comers such as Griffin House and Dawn Mitschele.

In Australia, Coulter started out producing and writing for other artists out of his bedroom, but after he moved from the beaches of Queensland to the coast of California, he tried getting in front of the mic himself and was hooked.

His audiences liked it too and they soon had him playing at top San Diego venues. After releasing his first album, he headed out on the road, touring the US for the next 9 months, playing for audiences from Hawaii to New York City. His song, “Booty Voodoo” became a hit on the Internet after being called “The Song of the Summer” by C.C. Chapman, host of the number 1 podcast on iTunes, Accident Hash. The tour inspired him to make his base in San Diego and build on his momentum. Unfortunately, things don’t always go according to plan and Coulter took a hit with the rest of the economy when live music became a luxury to most.

In February 2011, at the same time finances forced him, his wife and their toddler son out of their Encinitas apartment, Coulter’s socio-political single, “I Would Love”, went national on Sirius XM’s popular songwriter channel, The Coffee House. It was soon joined by “Photograph”, another track from the debut and they both remain on the airwaves today. And then, when KPRI called to tell him they’d added “Booty Voodoo” into rotation as well, he knew he had no choice but to head back into the studio and get back to work. The LP, “Mr Positivity” was released in 2012 followed by a national tour in 2013. Now he is working on his third album set for release in summer 2014 featuring a duet with Dawn Mitschele and a special guest bass appearance from Butterfly Boucher.

Coulter began writing music when he was a teen helping his unemployed single mother raise his younger sisters. For him, it was a mechanism to help lift spirits, a vehicle to be used in the pursuit of happiness – an idea still obvious and necessary in his music today.

Raised on the legends of Motown and Jazz ... influenced by Ray Charles, Bill Withers, Stevie Wonder, and Sam Cooke ... combined with a love of all music, from Pearl Jam to Etta James, and everything in between ... Reynaldo Moreno brings it all together for a unique soul-filled journey of passion, positivity, and love.

A self taught guitarist, Reynaldo first entered the Phoenix music scene in the early 2000’s. Coining the phrase, “Acoustic Soul,” Naldo commanded attention with simply a guitar by his side. After a few years in the twin-cities of Minnesota, Reynaldo returned home to Phoenix.

Reynaldo surrounds himself with music. He’s got soul running through his veins. He is constantly developing and fine-tuning his sound. Naldo aspires to bring beauty and peace to the masses, with the hopes of inspiring change in our world.  It only takes a spark.
