“Yoga Rocks the Park is not just a weekly event, it’s a movement to bring a sense of peace and joy to our communities" - Erik, founder of YRP

First time heading to Yoga Rocks the Park? Or, are you a seasoned YRP goer looking to enjoy the experience even more? Check out this helpful list of ways to make the most of your Yoga Rocks the Park adventure...

Picture
1. Register & grab some goodies.
Arrive at the park by 8 am (we start at 8:30) and come say hi to the Yoga Rocks the Park Crew waiting for you at registration to check you in (please show your ticket on your mobile device OR just let us know your name - no need to print out your ticket). Also, don't forget to grab your free goodies from our partners). Pre-registration is encouraged to guarantee your spot and keep the lines flowing at the park. Please and thank you for that. ;)

Picture
2. Grab your mat, water bottle + sunscreen.
Head to the park EARLY with your friends, family or just roll solo as close-in parking for YRP is limited. Better yet, ride your bike or carpool. Don't have a mat/water bottle or sunscreen? No problem - in Denver Pogamat is on-site so you can sample/purchase a mat from right at the park along with other supplies from the YRP vendor booth.

Picture
3. Pre yoga needs?
Grab a juice or snack in the Wellness Vendor Village. Pick up some sunscreen and a new YRP water bottle or tank top. Bring your wallet (CC's accepted by most vendors) so you can pick up some new goodies from the 20+ vendors before and/or after class and enjoy connecting with old and new friends.

Picture
4. Drop your little yogis off at Camp YRP
If you have your kiddos with you (ages 5-10), you can drop them off at Camp YRP provided by Radiant Beginnings Yoga, which happens right by the main class and begins and ends 5 minutes before/after your class to ensure that Moms and Dads can enjoy their full savasana. p.s. They are always welcome to join you in the main practice.

Picture
5. Enjoy Guided Meditation, Yoga + Live Music and post-yoga mini-wellness workshops in Mother Nature with your Friends & Family
The 75-minute all-levels flow begins guided by some of your favorite local and national yoga teachers, accompanied by a LIVE SOUNDTRACK provided local emerging and nationally renowned musicians. In Denver you'll want to come early and stay late as the yoga class is preceded by a guided meditation and peace talk while post yoga there are free mini-wellness workshops in the vendor village. Breathe and enjoy the sacred space our teachers and musicians create for you each week in the presence of Mother Nature.

Picture
6. Mingle, hug a friend, support a local cause / business.
After class, the music and mingling continues and we encourage you meet someone new, and learn more about your local businesses and Seva Partners in our Wellness Vendor Village.

Picture
Bonus: You give just by showing up
All YRP cities donate some to all proceeds to local/national non-profits. In Denver 50% of all donations go to Food Bank of the Rockies. Can't afford to donate? No problem, in Denver the event is free thanks to local partners.

We all leave the park as shiny, happy people which ripples out into our communities!
Then, we do it all again next weekend!

About Yoga Rocks the Park
The Yoga Rocks the Park Community has organically grown from 30 yogis in Denver, to a collective of over 25,000 yogis, yoga teachers, community members, musicians, yoga studios, festival partners, non-profit organizations and mindful businesses who believe in the power of coming together with like-minded friends on a common mission --- to grow the practice of yoga, give back to our communities, bring light to inspiring yoga teachers, emerging musicians and innovations in wellness --- and to most importantly, to come together with our family and friends to play, move, love and celebrate each other in the sunshine in the presence of Mother Nature.

Today, with a beloved, passionate team of 20+ locally-based Event Directors in cities throughout the U.S., we collectively celebrate our own communities and play together on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the summer with our friends... sometimes 1000+  of them! Each of our 20 Yoga Rocks the Park event series was brought to its local community by a like-minded friend and is graciously supported in many beautiful ways by their own community. From one event 7 years ago with 30 yogis, to 150 events and 25,000 yogis in 2014 ---we think it's working! www.yogarocksthepark.com

about V (Five) Elements

Picture
What: V Elements (pronounced Five Elements) is a second year, one-day sustainable yoga, music and arts festival.  There will be yoga classes by day, lead by some of most sought after instructors, and music by night from both local and national touring artists.

When: April 5, 2014

Where: The heart of San Diego in Point Loma at the Liberty Station Green: http://libertystation.com/directory-type/parks-recreation.  This space is an expansive, grassy, outdoor field that is centrally located within San Diego.  It is easily accessible both by bike and car, from beach areas and from downtown, and offers plenty of parking.  There is an incredible view of the San Diego bay from “the green”.

Why: V Elements Festival will focus on balancing the five elements represented by earth, wind, fire, water, and space. This will be demonstrated through the key components of  yoga, music, community, health and environment.

Who: The producers of this event are Indie Yoga, Alternative Power Productions and Madero Group with sponsorships and partnerships from Ballast Point Brewing Company, Surfrider Foundation San Diego Chapter (non-profit partner), Adams Ave. Integrative Health, Belly Up, CityBeat, CorePower Yoga, Yogo Rocks the Park, Bird Rock Yoga, Happy-U Namaste, Aerial Revolution, The Untz and many more.

Sustainability: Focused on energy usage and carbon management, V Elements integrates sustainability throughout the entire event. This is accomplished through solar staging and sound, carbon offsetting, transportation and waste management.

A couple more cool things about the festival - It's super green

It's Solar Powered
Provided by Alternative Power Productions,  the V Elements main stage will be completely powered by alternative and solar energy including all of the sound and lighting. Alternative Power Productions has built the largest solar powered hybrid stage in the country. The stage is a Stageline SL250 integrating a 4.83-kilowatt (4830 watts) solar array, which supplies sunlight to (2) 800 amp batteries totaling 1600 amps of storage. The array powers (4) Outback Systems Inverters pumping 120 amps of power at 120Volts. The stage also houses a biodiesel generator equipped with an auto start feature making this stage 100% self-contained. Namaste and Rock on!
Goal of 100% Waste Diversion
We are really excited to announce our partnership with Zero Waste San Diego to help balance the five elements! We will work hand in hand with Zero Waste to create a thorough V Elements waste management program aiming for 100% waste diversion.
They take their Carbon Footprint Seriously
V Elements is teaming up with Carbonfund.org to offset our carbon footprint.  All tickets purchased for V Elements will include renewable energy credits, off-setting ticket buyers’ estimated travel emissions to and from the event. Other unique sustainable offerings will include paperless marketing, bike valet, shuttle points and more.

EXPERIENCE ERIC STANLEY LIVE AT 2014 YOGA ROCKS THE PARK PHOENIX FINALE' EVENT, MARCH 30TH | Free Download of The Eric Stanley Project Below
Picture
"Trying to be better than someone else is a pure waste of time. Strive to be better than you were yesterday" - Eric Stanley

Music is the inspirational driving force shaping lives worldwide. A great musical composition does not always need words to have an everlasting impact, for the message can be seen, felt and heard through sound. Take 22 year old musician Eric Stanley, who knows all about inspiring others through his musical talent. With over 15 million+ YouTube views, and 91,000+ YouTube subscribers, Eric is well on his way to achieving his goal of changing lives with his violin.

Born in Chesapeake, VA, Eric grew up in a household surrounded by musicians. What began as an elective in middle school developed into a second nature for Eric. As he entered high school, Eric went on to receive professional training and join the Richmond Youth Symphony Orchestra. Eric is currently studying Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus in Music and Business at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA.

Eric began playing along recorded songs in 2010. The first video he posted on YouTube was a violin cover of “Say Ahh” by Atlantic Recording Artist Trey Songz. This video gained 100,000 views in a day. The overwhelming response motivated him to keep moving forward. With just homemade videos recorded in his dorm room, Eric has reached over 91,000 subscribers and surpassed 15 million total upload views. He
continues to use this social media site to build his brand and has been featured on a number of social media sites such as Perez Hilton.com and WorldStarHipHop.com.

Eric’s mixtape of covers entitled “The Eric Stanley Project” was released in April 2011 to the delight of his fans and has received 56,000+ views, and over 27,000 downloads to date. This musical protégé continues to elevate his passion, and has performed both nationally and internationally in Ecuador, Mexico, England, as well as Sweden.

Awarded the Black Caucus, Black Student Union, & NAACP’s “Master of Music Award” in 2012, Eric has not limited himself to a specific style of music. He defines it more as world music mixed into modern. Some of his musical influences include Jean-Luc Ponty, Japhia Life, Andre 3000 and his family as a major influence in his career.
Picture
Eric’s debut single “Walkin’ Cross The Road” is available now on iTunes. A tour and an EP (extended-play) release of original music are also in the works for Eric. The self-entitled EP will incorporate a variety of pop, hip hop, jazz and orchestral music. With a steadily growing worldwide fan base, Eric Stanley is well on his way to achieving his goal of inspiring others with his violin chords.
